Using The Send Spacebar function in PlayAUDIO1U Control Ports

How to setup the Auracle X Control Port Settings with Boss Foot Switches

Please refer to Control Ports articles for our recommendations on foot switches and information on how to setup your foot switch for Control Ports in Auracle X. Once you have the proper momentary/latching settings on both your foot switches and Auracle X please proceed to the instructions below.

Note: This Send Spacebar Function will send to the topmost active application window only. For expected functionality please Be sure that your DAW is the topmost active application window.

The Send Spacebar Function

It may be useful for you to send the keyboard spacebar key command to both computers in a redundant playback setup, such as when using Avid ProTools as your DAW.

Before you begin, be sure to connect both computers (if your setup is redundant) to the PlayAUDIO1U.

To use the send spacebar function, select the appropriate control port of the four available control ports (Jack 1 Tip, Jack 1 Ring, Jack 2 Tip, Jack 2 Ring) and select the Input Actions button, which will call the Control Port Actions menu page pictured above.

Be sure that Device Settings changes are all set to "No Action," and select the Send Spacebar Dropdown to the appropriate setting for your use. For redundant computer setups, select "Send to both." Then, save your preset(s).

note: All that is not saved will be lost.

After the configuration steps above please disconnect USB cables from computers to the PlayAUDIO1U and reconnect them. Connected computers should now see the PlayAUDIO1U as an additional keyboard device (you may or may not receive a prompt depending on your OS). If your foot switch momentary settings as well as Auracle X Control Ports parameters are configured properly, depressing the assigned foot switch will send a spacebar key command to both computers to the topmost application window.
