We recommend foot switches like the Boss FS-6 or FS-7 can be used with a 1/4" TRS cable to trigger input actions found in the Control Ports section of Auracle X.
How to connect the foot switches
Physically there is not a lot of work to do.
We recommend connecting (1/4") TRS to TRS cable from your selected control jack to the TRS jack input port marked "A&B" on either a Boss FS-6:
** Boss FS-6:
** Boss FS-7:
We recommend using Control Port 1, especially if you are only using one foot switch.
How to setup the foot switches:
Notice above that both foot switches have a mode setting switch which will determine the latching behavior of the pedal. Please set your pedal to "Momentary" for the action message to be sent on the first depression of the pedal.
How to setup the Auracle X Control Port Settings:
On PA1U
Make sure Jack 1 (ring and tip) are set to Switch Type:Input and Trigger Type:Momentary. Setting both the physical foot switch (instructions above) and the Control Port Trigger Type to Momentary are vitally important. Other settings, especially combinations of Latching and Momentary can produce unwanted operation such as needing to press the foot switch four times to send a message.
How to setup the Auracle X Control Port Actions
Once your foot switch and Auracle X Control Port settings are set to input and action, you can choose the message that will be sent when the foot switch is depressed. To use the connected foot switch to manually toggle the active scene (A or B) of the PlayAUDIO1U, change the Scene Change Mode parameter as seen below:
Other Control Port Actions like Arm/Disarm failover, and preset change are also available to be sent by a foot switch. You can also send MIDI notes or CC messages if Scene Change Mode is not set to Toggle, as mentioned above in the Control Port Actions page.
Once this is done you should save both units, by double clicking the main knob on front of the PA1U interface.
