Setting the service order of the networks on your computer is important to get the best and most consistent connections from your iConnectivity interface. The service order is essentially a priority list. You want to have your interface connection at the top of this list. Below are the steps to looking into this and setting up the correct service order.
- Go to System Settings using the apple logo in the top left of your Mac screen.
- Select Network in the left column of the system settings
- On the right side of this screen you can see all the networks available on your computer. The active ones will be on the top. Your connection from your interface or switch should have a yellow or green dot by it. These should show the service order. In the example below my ethernet connection should be above my wifi connection, when I check the service order.
- To set the service order. Click the three dot button with a dropdown and select Set Service Order..
- A new window will appear with all the network connection options. You can click and drag these up and down in the window. The top connection has the top priority. This should be the connection that's hosting your iConnectivity interface(s).
- Click ok and the order will be saved.
